A week ago I had the opportunity to attend the Intermezzo Collections trade show. Being a part time blogger, I’m always eager to get a glimpse of the fashion world beyond the retail stores and fashion show. It was really fascinating being able to walk amongst the buyers and get a “behind the curtain” look of how the clothes get from the makers to the retail stores. I got to meet a lot of cool people and get to know brands I’ve never heard of before (hint: more on that next week). And one of that cool people I got to meet is Laolu Senbajo. I was immediately taken by his art as soon as I saw it from far away — not to be Janet Jackson cheesy, but it was seriously moth to a fire moment. If his art work may look familiar to you, it’s probably because you saw it on Beyoncé’s video. What can I say, the queen and I share good taste in art.
Lalou was nice enough to lend me one of his jacket (excuse me how rude, I mean to say art piece) for the day. It was a little big on me, but hot damn it was so cool, I did not want to give it back.
