Time and time again, I’ve heard comments from people that New Yorkers seem to wear exclusively black in the wintertime. I do think there is some truth to that. Black is a universal, easy to wear, color that goes with pretty much everything. Most people may not have a red or pink coat, but they probably have a black one. So when winter time comes and people are donning their jacket to bundle up, it gives the impression that all of a sudden everyone collectively decides to wear black.
I’m probably a bit guilty of wearing too much black in the wintertime myself. I mean black is a cool color, so there’s nothing wrong with it, right? But when I’m feeling like I have too much of it on, I try to add pops of color hear and pops of pattern there. Because sometimes you need more than just the basic black.
