Nail Design Tutorial: Four Kitties and a Chickie

I was on a business trip last week and had to leave Mimi behind for the whole week. Poor thing was so attention-starved that she kept following me around all Sunday afternoon. I was trying to think of a nail design to do and immediately knew it had to be kitty related.
ET VOILA, here it is! As if it wasn’t already obvious enough that I’m the crazy cat lady, now you can tell from my nails too.

What you’ll need:

• Winning Nails Sable Nail Brush Round #6
• Essie Nail Polish, in Whites Waltz
• American Apparel Nail Polish, in any pastel colors (to draw the kitties)
• American Apparel Nail Polish, in Sunshine State (to draw the chickie)
• American Apparel Nail Polish, in Sunset Blvd (to draw the chickie beak)
• So Easy Stripe Rite Paint, in White
• So Easy Stripe Rite Paint, in Black
• So Easy Stripe Rite Paint in Pink
• OPI Start To Finish (Base & Top Coat)
• A CUTE KITTY ASSISTANT to help you out

How to do it:

1. Start off with painting your nails with a clear base, then paint them with two coats of the white polish. Wait for polish to dry before completing next step.
2. To draw the cat, start by drawing the outline in an ‘M’ shape using the nail art brush and a color of your choosing.
3. Fill in the outline. Wait for polish to dry before completing next step.
4. Use the tip of the regular nail brush to draw the whites of the eyes.
5. Using a black nail art pen, draw the pupils and whiskers.
6. Finish off the cutie kitty by drawing a pink nose using pink nail art pen.
7. To draw the chickie, start by drawing the outline of the cat using the nail art brush and yellow nail polish.
8. Fill in the outline. Wait for polish to dry before completing next step.
9. Draw the beak in a triangle shape using the nail art brush and orange nail polish.
10. Use the tip of the regular nail brush to draw the whites of the eyes.
11. Using a black nail art pen, draw the pupils.
12. Finish off the chickie by drawing a feet using the black nail art pen.
