Review: Le Mieux Skin Perfecter

Le Mieux Skin Perfecter

Lord knows I’ve had tons of struggles with my skin. I mean, come on, I thought as you get old and have to deal with fine lines and wrinkles creeping in, you also get to shed the skin problems of your teenage years. But alas, the pesky teenage pimples just mutated to adult acne for me, of which I have to deal with on top of the barrage of new skin issues adulthood brings. No matter what I do, my skin will always have its good and bad days (the latter tends to occur around that “time of the month”). However I find that I have more of the good days when I am diligent with my cleansing and exfoliation. Not being too aggressive with at-home extraction also helps, since these can cause pustule. So when I came a across the 4-in-1 cleanser/exfoliator/extractor/infusor Le Mieux Skin Perfecter, which seems to have a lot of promise to help me with my layers of skin concerns, I had to try it out. Because, who doesn’t want perfect skin, right?

As a Cleanser & Exfoliator
I was pretty pessimistic at the tool’s ability to clean and exfoliate at first. Well mainly because the spatula end just looks like a strip of metal — what can it do, really? A lot of good stuff when you consider that it also provides 28,000 ultrasonic vibrations. The quick start directions only mentions that I should wet my face to prep, but I figure it was a good idea to take off my make up first. It was surprising the amount of additional yucky gunk the spatula was able to lift up. I’m also a fan of the massage the vibration gave my face.

As an Extractor
In doing my research for the product, I found this rather discomfiting but oddly satisfying video of the tool being used as an extractor. It’s the kind that grosses you out but also makes you want to do it (perplexing, I know).
I am a self-confessed face picker and it’s something I have to actively stop myself from doing too much (because its unrealistic to think I’ll stop altogether). So anything that helps me do it in a more controlled controlled way, I’m all about. Let’s just say the first hand experience is every bit as gnarly as the video promised to be.

As an Infuser
Ah fine lines and wrinkles: just add that to the list of skin problems I now have to also combat. For the past few years, I’ve been experimenting with several different anti-aging serums. If there’s a way for me to ensure they penetrate the skin better and make it more effective, why not try it? The application is similar and as easy as with the cleansing an exfoliating, with one major difference of turning the spatula upward instead of downward. Obviously, with this one I’m not able to see as an immediate of a result as with using it for cleansing purposes. But my skin is feeling more supple.
