OK so when you think of summer fashion, what comes to mind? Probably color. Something bold and bright. But you know what, I’m quite fond of breaking the rules, so for this blog I’m eschewing the summer colors for a black and white outfit.
Even without the color, there are still tons of things “summery” about this outfit. The stretchy rayon jersey material of this dress is so soft and keeps me cool throughout the hot summer days. The cut and bow-tie keyhole in the back probably helps a lot with that also The stripe pattern works well year rounds, but I think it’s especially cute for the summertime. Not to mention that when worse comes to worst, the pattern hides sweat preety well (sorry is that TMI? LOL).
The length and cut of this dress, along with my new super short hair cut is making me feel Suri Cruise-ish. And speaking of, can I tell you about this haircut I just got at Arrojo? While most people typically do the long hair in the winter and short in the summer, I usually do the other way around. I figured in the winter time, your hair will be covered in a hat anyway, so you pretty much don’t have a option when it comes to fixing your hair down. Meanwhile in the summer time, having long hair gives you the option of being able to do a braid or a bun. Well, late last year I got my very fist ever shoulder-length blunt bob (I usually always get layers) and I loved it. My only regret was not going short enough with the cut. I really really REALLY wanted to try having a super short bob. So I thought, what the hell, I’ll break my long-hair summer rule. I’m really loving this cut! Since I get bored easily, I usually always alternate between having short and long hair. But I like this so much, I might keep the length for awhile or maybe *gasp* go even shorter. What do you guys think I should go with?
