In my opinion, the best time to go on a tropical vacation is in late January. The first reason being that Jan. 22 is my birthday. What better way to celebrate than to go on a fab vacation, am I right? The second reason for the timing is because that’s usually when I’m starting to get really sick of the season. The winter blues always hits hard in late January, making me desperate for a warm escape. I’m not exactly sure where I’ll end up going, but no matter where I go, I know it will be somewhere warm and beachy. I will most definitely be baring my legs. And I’ll be getting vacation ready with Philips SatinShave Advanced.

Why I’m a big fan of getting vacation ready with Philips SatinShave Advanced

I have to say I was skeptical when Philips first approached me to try out their SatinShave Advanced cordless electric shaver. Until now, I’ve been squarely in the disposable razor camp. I tried shaving with an electric shaver years ago, but was not a fan of the result. It did not give me the close shave I expected, and the experience felt pinchy. Not to mention being tethered to a wall and the clunkiness of the device made shaving certain parts of your body, like the bikini area, super tricky.

Well they’ve clearly made some advances since I last used an electric shaver Philips SatinShave Advanced has no cords to cramp my style and the ergonomic handle makes shaving hard to reach areas easy peasy. I’m getting the baby smooth results I expect. And best part is *gasp* I can shave dry. Which means I’m able to shave anywhere really. I would NEVER attempt to dry shave with regular razor.

I’m also a big fan of the comb attachment that lets you trim hairs to a length of 1/8″. They make for trimming and shaping delicate areas, like your bikini zone, so easy.

A more sustainable and economical shaving option

While I wouldn’t call myself a sustainability queen, I’m all about making those little changes that make the world better. I cringe when I think about all of the disposable razors I have thrown away in the past. Not to mention the empty bottles of shaving cream. So, I feel that a rechargeable electric shaver like Philips SatinShave Advanced has to be a more sustainable option.

Being able to shave dry also means that I don’t need to use shaving cream. This not only means less plastic waste, but also less money being spent.

So where should I go then?

Alrighty, I’ve decided that I’m definitely going on vacation. I know I’ll be packing tons of bathing suits and dresses that show off my legs. I also know I will be getting vacation ready with Philips SatinShave Advanced. Now I just need some help deciding where to go.

Wherever it is, the destination must be warm, beachy, and baby friendly. But that really doesn’t narrow it down much. Here are the contenders so far:

  • Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: I came here almost two years ago for my babymoon and have been dreaming of going back ever since. The resort is just beautiful, and I love the desert seclusion. However, It isn’t cheap and not exactly close, as it’s an 8hr flight away.
  • Kona, Hawaii: A vacation to the big island of Hawaii is one of my most memorable trips. The island’s duality is mesmerizing with its sunny beaches and beautiful misty rainforest, but it has the longest flight time out of the destinations listed here, which is sure to be a challenge since we’ll be travelling with a 20 month old.
  • Tulum, Mexico: I have seen sooooo many photos of Tulum on Instagram that have given me major FOMO. This one has been on my “want to visit” list forever. I also love that they have tons of eco-tourism hotel options. I am, however, nervous about the drive from the Cancun airport to Tulum.
  • Bermuda: The 2hr 15min flight time to Bermuda is a strong motivator for me. The close distance means I can take a shorter vacation and miss less work, but looks like mama will have to work for her money to afford the expensive hotels that I have my eye on.

Oh man, I just don’t know where I should go. Can you guys help me pick? Any other beachy vacay suggestions?
