Denim on denim is a year round look that is actually super easy to pull off. But if you’re still feeling a little lost, I’ve got five tips that will help you pull off the look.
1. Mix different shades of denim
Just having one tone of denim can get pretty boring pretty quick. Add a little depth and dimension to your look by mixing different shades of denim.
2. Style with heels for an elevated look
A denim look is always going to scream casual, no matter what. But if you want it to go for more business casual, rather than lounging casual, add a pair of sleek black pumps to your look. Even better, pair the look with a blazer (literally any kind would do since denim on denim is a blank canvas).
3. Pair with black for some quick styling
In a hurry and not sure how to style your denim on denim look? Easy peasy! Just remember: go with black. Add any item you want that’s in a shad of black: jacket, hats, shoes, bag. Denim and black is a classic pairing that’s guaranteed match up no matter what.
4. But don’t be afraid to try on other colors
Like I mentioned earlier, one of the best advantages of denim on denim is that it’s a blank canvas. You can literally style this a multitude different way and pair it with any color.
5. When in doubt, add a hat
I might be a bit biased here because I’m a huge fan of hats. Whenever I’m feeling that my outfit is lacking “a little something”, my go-to is usually to add a hat to the mix.
