Video: Sock Bun Tutorial

March 20, 2014

I guess I’m on a v-blogging roll because I have yet another video tutorial for you guys: the almighty sock bun. This is one of my favorite go-to hairstyle since it’s easy, versatile, and you guessed it, perfect for day-three hairs. You know what I’m talking about… Those days where you know you probably should wash your hair, but you woke up way too late to do it. That was yesterday (and today) for me. Thanks to this hairstyle you can be lazy AND look good. Now thats what I call a win-win!

Jess has done a up similar tutorial, but I do mine differently enough that I think it warrants another video. Here’s my version:

What did you think? Did you try it out? Let me know — I’d love to see any photos or videos.

These sock buns are so cute & save money on those unnecessary doughnuts… plus, the cotton looks less obvious if its visible than the mesh-type material of the doughnut, great post. x

Great tutorial. Thank you for explaining what to do with the extra hair. I was struggling to get this style to work because no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get my short lengths to stay when I took it to the end of my longest layers and when I started wrapping I was trying to spread it all over from the very first wrap. Not sure that makes sense but your tutorial makes sense to me and I can’t wait to try it.

I adore this cute sock bun on you! I would love to try it for myself but I have really thin hair and not sure if it would work for me. Great tutorial!
