I was on the hunt for a body scrub this past weekend. I browsed a few stores and opened tons of sample tubs, but couldn’t quite find the scent that I like. Then I realized I could probably make my own scrub — that way I can customize it any way I want. After some research, I found that not only is it super easy to do, I already had most of the ingredients in my pantry.
Read on to find out what ingredients you need and how you can make your own DIY scrub.

I can’t wait for spring to officially come. Not just because I love the bright colors and floral prints that typically mark the season, but also because I wouldn’t have to suffer taking this blog picture. It was windy and cold out, so I really should have put on a jacket. But I didn’t want to cover up the color of my pretty coral blouse. It’s okay though — beauty and style require some pain every once in awhile.
Outfit Combo: blouse from Forever 21, skirt from MINKPINK (find similar here and here), tights from Spanx, booties from Ann Taylor , necklace from Chanel.

I’ve been in Central Illinois for work since Monday — just in time to “enjoy” winter storm Rocky. The snow looks pretty enough from inside the comfort of the office, but not so cool when you have to walk through it (and you failed to pack appropriate shoes). I definitely wish I was somewhere warmer, somewhere way warmer. Maybe Turks and Caicos or the Dominican Republic? So needless to say, I spent the late afternoon fantasizing, plotting my escape and browsing Matches to find my vacation outfit.

This outfit inspo came from Gita’s Prep School Uniform post last month. I really like how she mixed in the plaid but made it her own steelo — which is pretty much what I did here. Hopefully people don’t start getting us confused… HA!
Outfit Combo: top: J.Crew perfect shirt and H&M sweater, bottom: Vigoss shorts via Nordstrom and H&M tights, shoes: Jimmy Choo short biker boots, and bag: Chanel
Update (March 8 2013): Congratulations to LL for winning this giveaway!
One of the things we look for when we shop for jewelry is pieces that are unique ‘one of a kind’. I mean what else is going to match Gita’s cat scarf?!??? This is one of the reason that we are excited to partner with eNVe Designs to help our readers accessorize. Designer Ngan’s pieces are not only beautiful enough to wear on their own but delicate enough to layer with existing items in your jewelry box.
So what’s the giveaway prize — One lucky winner will get a floating heart necklace of their choice!
I borrowed this awesome skinny skull belt you see me wearing from my sister. What I loved about the belt is that it’s edgy without being over the top — plus it matches so well with my American Apparel velvet skirt. After I took these blog pictures, my sissy and I went shopping. I totally left the belt in one of the store dressing rooms, but remembered and came back to get it in less than thirty minutes. But when I got to the store the belt is nowhere to be found.
Boooooo… Sorry for loosing the skull belt, sissy. A fresh new one is coming your way via mail!
Outfit Combo: skirt from American Apparel, belt from LF Stores (find similar here and here), shirt from United Colors of Benneton, tights from Uniqlo, booties from Zara, necklace from Forever 21.

Nemo wasn’t going to stop us from getting back to Lincoln center! We strapped on our stilettos to see Mara Hoffman, Rafael Cennamo, and Katya Leonovich.
Hope everyone is having a great week so far! We are finally getting around to putting up our pics/recap from NYFW. There were so many favorite looks, shows, and moments … let’s just say G & I were in our own version of fashion heaven.
Have you been keeping up with the shows? What were some of your favorite looks so far?
Update (March 8 2013): Congratulations to Lisa for winning this giveaway!
Valentines day is quickly approaching and most of you guys are probably making plans for the big day. Which restaurant should I go to? What am I going to wear? Or maybe even: what underwear am I going to wear?
Mimi & Chichi has partnered with Samantha Chang Lingerie to help our readers get their sexy on. We will be giving away Samantha Chang’s Meet Me at Midnight lingerie set, valued at $195, to one lucky winner.
Even better, the winner will also get a personalized boudoir illustration of themselves from our resident artist, Lemonisa.
Before I moved to New York, I typically avoided buying hooded jackets. I thought hoods look fussy — never mind that they don’t really serve a practical purpose.
Boy, was I wrong! You don’t really appreciate your hooded jacket until you get caught in a snow storm while walking to work (and you spent an hour beautifying your hair that morning).
Prior to transplanting to the city, I only had one hooded coat that didn’t match with very many of my outfits. So I swung by Uniqlo this past weekend and got myself a more versatile black puffer coat.
Now I’m totally hooked on the hood and I already got my sight on getting a red one next (my favorite color).
Which one should I go with? Hmmm… *ponder ponder*
1. Burberry Brit Oversized Parka – $1,470
2. Oasap Hooded Trenchcoat – $128
3. Burberry Brit Military Trench – $800
4. Duck Duck Umbrella – $17.99
Metro, bike-share, and walking — Oh My! These are a few of my new FAV ways to get around the city. Who knows… I might not need my car anymore.
P.S. Lovin’ this recent warmer winter weather, hope it lasts through NYFW.
Outfit Combo: top: H&M sweater, scarf knitted by my Aunt, All Saints Belvedere leather jacket, bottom: Asos leather shorts, and Target tights, shoes: Soda via Standard Style (similar)

It was snowy and cold outside last Friday and I wasn’t in the mood to freeze my booty off running around town. So I stayed inside, gave myself a mani and get caught up with my TV shows. I did get inspiration for my nail design from the drizzly snow outside.
Read on to find out how easy it is to do this nail design.
Don’t you hate when you wake up late on a day you planned to have a dim sum brunch? Dim sum connoisseurs would know, the best time to enjoy these delicacies on the weekend is around 10:30 am. Come any later and you risk fighting a crowd to get a table, especially if you go to a popular place. Well I decided to hit snooze a few too many times and didn’t make it to Jing Fong restaurant until after noon, so the crowd was bananas when we got there. It’s okay though — the delicious dim sum was totally worth the wait!
What’s your favorite dim sum spot (in NYC or otherwise)?

Today is my birthday, which means that I’m one year closer to the dirty thirty (blegh). But on the bright side, my mom-in-law did get me this beautiful new coat from Desigual. It’s my new favorite!
And don’t worry just because it’s my birthday, I am fully clothed underneath the coat and don’t have any plans to surprise anyone with my “birthday suit” HA
Outfit Combo: coat from Desigual, tights from Uniqlo, clutch from Chanel, heels from BCBG Generation (find similar here and here), earrings from Nasty Gal.
