I got the Scarlett Statement Necklace as part of my Lucky FABB swag bag. Getting a giant swag bag already makes me feel like a spoiled kid on Christmas morning, but I got especially giddy when I saw this necklace. The candy colored jewels reminds me of Marie Antoinette (well, Sofia Coppola’s version anyway). As soon as I saw it, I knew that it would be the perfect accessory to compliment and brighten up a boring ol’ sweater/button-up outfit combo.

Those of you who are fellow bloggers or avid photographers may already know this, but the best time to take outfit photos is usually in the early morning or in the late afternoon twilight. Since I consider waking up and getting ready before 10:30 am a huge feat, it goes without saying that most of my blog pictures are taken in the afternoon time instead.

Since posting the recipe for mini donuts, the kiddo and I have been all about using the mini donut pan. After a few modifications, I came up with a banana donut (using mochi flour) with a cream cheese glaze, topped with nuts. A voila my mini banana nut donuts — YUM!

I love braided updos, especially milkmaid braids. This hairstyle looks deceptively complicated, but it’s really not that hard. All you need is hair elastics, bobby pins, and deft fingers sprinkled with a bit of patience. As long as you know how to do french braids, this updo should be a piece of cake!
I love over-sized shirts — they are the perfect attire for a laid-back lazy Sunday brunch. I found this printed chambray at Langford Market while visiting my family in Houston a few weeks ago. The boutique, which I like to describe as an affordable version of Anthropologie, is one of my fav in Texas. It’s really too bad they don’t have a branch in New York.
Although come to think of it, this is probably a good thing for my wallet!

Oh gel polish, how I have a love/hate relationship with you… I love how you stay on pretty for two weeks. But when I want you off, you don’t seem to want to get away. Of course the times when I need a polish change usually coincides with the times that my schedule is the busiest and I don’t have time to go to the nail salon.
But guess what, you can don’t need to go to a salon to remove gel polish. You probably already have all the tools needed: cotton ball, acetone, and foil. Read on to find out how easy it is!
Who doesn’t LOVE a good scone UH crazy people, that’s who. Anyways the problem with scones is they are usually made with heavy cream OR real milk and that does NOT agree with my tummy (sad face).
